Vertical Wicking Testing

MSC Vertical Wicking Test Method (PT-VW)
Scope: This test method measures the distance water will wick up a cut edge of fabric. Caution is advised when using the results obtained by this test to measure comfort, as comfort involves the ability of a textile to absorb water in the flat state.
- Sample is conditioned in atmospheric conditions for textiles
- 1 cm of the sample is submerged in di-ionized water
- A measurement of how far the water has moved along a cut edge of fabric is measured every 1, 5, 10, and 30 minutes.
- The sample tested is 2.5cm wide x 17cm long
